About Us
More than 30 years ago, the Original Mulch Master developed a proprietary process to shred organic straw and hay into easy-to-apply, dust, chemical and clump-free material that spreads quickly, promotes germination and enriches the soil with organic compounds.
All our ingredients are certified 100% natural and biodegradable with straw approved for organic gardening by Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI.org), Baystate Organic Certifiers and Northeast Organic Farming Association.
We never use chemicals.
If a product uses “tack” or tackifiers, those products are made with chemical compounds used in formulating adhesives to artificially make the materials stick together. Unlike our competition, we don’t use chemicals. Ever.
In our proprietary production process, the material is cut into lengths that spread easily and naturally knit together. Proper watering of the seeds creates stickiness that holds the straw in place.
Sustainably Sourced in the USA.
Our straw is the stem residue from small grains raised for feed and human consumption. After the seed head has been removed (combined off) the stem is then baled into huge rectangular bales and removed to dry storage. Our operation shreds the straw and repackages it into 3.5 cubic feet (bags). Nothing is added to the straw in the process. Our production facility has an industrial dust collection system that continuously removes dust so the straw remains a completely clean, dust free product.
