For Mulching
For an economical way to control weeds and promote healthy plant growth. The loose texture of our product prevents clogging of roto-tillers and composts quickly to help nourish soil naturally.
Frost Guard On Flower Beds and Landscaped Areas
Preferred by many landscapers and gardeners as a substitute for more expensive salt hay, The Original Mulch Master Shredded Straw inhibits weed growth. Applied densely in the fall, it provides an excellent “frost guard” for delicate roots. In the spring, use it generously as a base under decorative mulch or remove it to a composting area to make a great soil enhancer.
As Animal Bedding
Because the proprietary production process of The Original Mulch Master Shredded Straw removes dust, it’s great for use in animal pens, cages, doghouses, and horse stalls. Plus it’s particularly good for use with foals and animals recovering from surgery. Ask your vet!

- Made in the USA
Extremely versatile, our shredded hay/straw blend can be used for lawn seeding applications.
This product is like our Shredded Straw, except that it may contain up to 35% forage grasses which makes it great for retaining moisture, seeding new lawns, and preventing erosion – and also helps make this product a bit more economical. Whereas our straw is produced as an annual, the forage grasses may go five years between seedings.
